A New Job!

I have accepted a job at the University of Dayton as the Student Learning Support Generalist. I'll be supervising 40-50 upperclassmen who are peer tutors for different classes, meeting with individuals who struggle with time management or other study skills areas, and work with Athletics and other academic departments. There's lots of growth potential, which is wonderful. The best thing about it is that Philip and I have been praying for the perfect job for almost 2 years, and it's finally happened. It reminds me that God's timeline is more perfect than what I could ever think.

Keep on Learning

I can't get away from learning new things. Since August, I've been taking cake decorating classes. I'm now in my 4th class, and I am so excited about what I am learning. Here are a couple of pics:

Hope you enjoyed the pics! More to come soon!

Sorry for the delay....

I know I haven't updated in a while, but let me catch you up with things that are happening in my life. Philip and I had a good 2007. I graduated from UD and I finally have my Master's Degree. We hosted Philip's family for Christmas, so we needed to paint and get the house cleaned for 14 people. Overall, I think we did a pretty good job for our first big dinner party (and we cooked all the food!). I'm still working at UD, and I can't get away from learning. I've taken 2 cake decorating classes, and I'm in my 3rd one now. I love it!

I did have a loss this week. My grandmother died on Saturday after 3 weeks in the nursing home. My whole family is relieved that she doesn't linger in pain any more. We know she's in Heaven, so we're rejoicing in that.

I hope you are having a good start to 2008!

Many Exciting Things!

Hey! Sorry it's been a while since I've updated. I do check everyday to see what everyone else is doing in Xanga world, so I have kept up with your lives.

I'm taking the day off to get my house in order. The kitchen's the worst, so that's my first stop today. I've been working at UD, which I LOVE! I'm working with first year students and upper classmen, so I get a good mix of new students and old. I'm on 2 committees also...I feel so professional!

Philip got a new job, so that's the answer to our prayers. We've been praying for over a year for a new job, and God has brought this wonderful job to Philip's life. He's there right now, but doesn't start for another week.

I'm taking a cake decorating class, and I'm enjoying it so much! I've also been able to do some cakes for money, and that's been a good way to earn a few extra dollars.

Well, I'm off to clean the kitchen! Happy Friday!

I am....

an official graduate of UD as of 8:00 tonight (well, Aug. 13 is the official, official date, but I'm done tonight!). WOOHOO!

Also, 1 week from Sunday is Philip's and my 1 year anniversary. What a great year it's been! To celebrate, we are going to Gatlinburg and then to Charlotte, NC.

Things are winding down, but I'm looking for a job like a madwoman. I'm looking forward to getting my house the way I want it, but I'm wanting to get a job also.

O.K., that was a quick update! Hope everyone is doing well!
